We decided to develop our DAC6 tool, DAC6pro, at the beginning of this year because we wanted to start only as soon as the XML technical guidelines were issued. This approach ensures that our technology aligns exactly with what tax authorities truly expect to be reported.

Service providers that built their MDR / DAC6 tools before any technical guidelines were issued (i.e., before 2020) face a double software programming effort/redesign as these cannot report in XML. For those software providers, it will be a tremendous effort to redesign their tool to the XML requirements issued by the tax authorities.

This effectively means an almost full rebuild of the solution which TaxModel wanted to avoid. And this is also the reason that, although we are entering the market late, we will be one of the first providers with a tool that can actually report in XML. We are ready to test our solution with the Dutch tax authority‘s validation service as soon as they are ready.

The DAC6 data portals of most EU Member States are or should be operational on 1 July 2020.

The Dutch tax authorities informed us that a test environment of their portal, as such will not be available. A Validation Test Service (VTS) is available on the ODB (Digital Message Traffic Support) website, as part of the Tax Authorities (www.odb.belastingdienst.nl). The VTS is a service that the Dutch tax authorities make available to software developers. It allows the software developer to verify that the XML or XBRL messages generated by their software to meet the Message and Data specifications that apply to that message. The VTS is only accessible to software providers.
